THE BONNIE WEE LASSIES 1959

They played in the Hancock gym in 1959 against HCS faculty members consisting of  Bill Fox, Mal Biedekapp, Van Tocket, Mr. Penitcost, and other teachers. Arnie Rubin of Brooklyn, NY owned and managed the team. The star player was Betty Rubin, Arnie's wife. Betty, "The Bob Cousey" of women's basketball, died several years ago. Arnie died last month at his Brooklyn home. He also owned, with his son Kerry, the School House on the Brooklyn side of Hancock, where Kerry visits on weekends, and to whom we owe thanks for these pictures.
