November 4, 2008 - June 24, 2009 THANKS to all that did
the organizing and this site is GREAT!!! I, too, was glad that I
attended the reunion and enjoyed talking with everyone. We are
probably the only HCS class that has a reunion every 5 years and am
looking forward to the next. Thanks again, Betty Thank you so much for
always including me in your get togethers. I have loved every one of
them. John, Scott and BK, thanks for the golf, it was a blast and
sorry I could not make the 2nd day. Love and Peace to all. Keep The
Faith It was great seeing so
many of my former classmates. The reunion was a great success -
thanks to all who made it happen. Looking forward to our 50th! It was great to be invited to the "64 Reunion. What a great day! It was nice to renew old friendships. It is always sad to remember those who are no longer with us (Jerry Rosenfield) and it is equally sad to miss those who could not attend. I am sure we all can think of several people we wish had attended, but did not. Perhaps some will see this posting and realize that their presence is missed. Anyway, great job to those who worked so hard to get this organized. I look forward to the next re-union and hope those who missed this one will reconsider for the next (50th). Gerry Mackin 7/31/09 WHAT A GREAT REUNION.
WOW, the Hancock Class of 64 did and continues to do some great
things in this world. It was special seeing people I had not seen
for 45 years. Praises to those who made it happen. Special thanks to
the person who ordered the weather as it is now pouring to almost
flood stages. I also want to say "thank
you" for a great reunion...this may have been the best idea so far
in that everyone was able to visit without loud music drowning us
out. I gotta say - our class is still a pretty good-looking bunch!!!
Anyway I enjoyed all of it and wish I could have gotten around to
everybody....all of you who organized - my hat is off to you- great
job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great time at the
reunion. Wouldn't it be great to have even a larger attendance in
five years. So nice to reacquaint with old friends. The Reunion wasn't long
enough! I never got a chance to talk to everyone. Lee Woodmansee 7/29/09 Ditto! We'll have to have a sleepover next time. Joe Iozzi 7/29/09 Jerry Rosenfield has died. Evidently he died Thursday night, July 2. His service is on Monday, July 6 at 2 PM at the West Lawn Cemetery in Binghamton, NY. I don't have too many detail's, except that he leaves brothers Artie and Larry, a daughter Judy and grandson Sam. Parson's Funeral Home is handling the arrangements; 607-724-1336. I am taking up a class collection for his daughter Judy. If you wish to contribute on behalf of the class please send your donation to; Joseph Iozzi 26 Peas Eddy Road Hancock, NY 13783 You may also donate using Paypal sending payment to: iozzi@hancock.net Please make a note; Jerry Rosenfield You can leave a message for the family at: http://www.legacy.com/PressConnects/Obituaries.asp?Page=LifeStory&PersonId=129313532 7/5/09
On behalf of Jerry's daughter, Judy and grandson, Sam, we would like to thank the following for their donations:
A condolence card with our donation will go out to Jerry's family after the reunion. 7/22/09 Postscript A total of $265 was donated by the class for Judy Rosenfield. 7/30/09 Mrs. Chamberlain has also died. She was 95 & lived near Albany, NY. We will be adding a Memoriam page to the HCS1964 web site in the near future. 7/6/09
Hi Everyone, Louise Worzel Botsford 4/6/09
Well, wouldn't you just
know it! Louise broke her arm! Thank God we have completed the
planning stages for our upcoming reunion. I hope she didn't do it
just to avoid the stamp licking process. It looks like we'll have to
use metered mail to send the invitations? It will be good to get
back to Hancock. I've always missed the area, but I had to go where
the work was. Probably everyone did one way or another.
I am about to retire from
the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office after 28 years. I am not far
from Hancock, but I haven't seen anyone from there in over 25 years.
My husband, Harrison Miller and I are trying to make arrangements to
be there on the 25th. Hopefully, we will be able to find a
campground close. Special kudos to Joe I, Louise, Scott O, Tom K, Helen H, Scott B and John F for all of your time and efforts. We hope to see our entire class in Hancock on the weekend of July 25. John Fucci 3/26/09 Hi All, I'm looking forward to
"catching up" with everyone. Sorry I missed the last one. Thanks for
posting the yearbook pictures. I'll need a couple of months to
figure out who everyone is. It's a good thing we didn't have a
couple hundred classmates!!! Everything sounds great and I, too, say thanks to the organizers. I am also hoping for a great response. Ern & I will NOT be staying at Tony's thanks to Eddie Thiele (ha-ha)! did anyone contact Bill Weber & Ginny Stevens? If they did, I'm curious about the reception they got....she was not nice 5 years ago. We are in the beautiful Thousand Islands in Northern NY - we can see the majestic St. Lawrence River from our porch!!! See all of you soon.... Pat Brown 5/12/09 My apologies to Betty Davie, Alonzo Doan, Ted Darling and Butch Davis. I inadvertently left your pictures off the reunion mailer and web site Photo Gallery...until today. Please forgive me. Joe Iozzi 6/12/09 I AM SOOOO LOOKING
FORWARD TO THE REUNION. NOTHING COULD STOP ME. IT WILL BE SO GLAD TO
SEE EVERYONE AGAIN. THANKS TO JOHN, JOE, LOUISE, SCOTT, HELEN H, FOR
GETTING THIS TOGETHER. WISH I COULD HAVE ASSISTED IN THIS, BUT
TAKING CARE OF MOM AND DAD WITH HEALTH ISSUES AND WORKING FULL TIME
REALLY LEAVES LITTLE TIME. THE COMMITTEE'S ARE VERY MUCH
APPRECIATED. Helen Crisman-Janssen 6/15/09 Because of a previous
commitment I was unable to attend the 40th, but wouldn't miss this
one for the world. I'm anxious to catch up on the lives of all my
former classmates, many of whom I haven\'t seen since graduation.
Since graduation I have lived in many great cities around the
country, but, even though I wasn't born in Hancock, when asked where
I'm from I always say Hancock, NY. I sincerely hope all who read
this will be able to attend this years function. To Those who can't,
drop me a note and let's catch up on old times. You can e-mail me at
granitekusa@aol.com Bill Kelly 6/16/09 John: I am sorry for the delay
in answering your e-mail. We, Jean and I would love to attend, but
unfortunately, we are not going to be able to. It would be nice to
see everyone. I am having radiation treatments (37) on my nose. I am
going to have the last one Wed. June 17th. I will have to see if I
need chemotherapy. I won't be doing that until June 22. Please send my very best
to everyone and perhaps I will be able to attend the next reunion. Jane (Robbins) Roney 6/16/09 Brigitte and I deeply
regret that we are unable to attend the reunion. We were just in
Hancock/Deposit for my Mom's 87th Birthday in May. I truly love
getting "HOME" whenever we can. I am retired but as I tell everyone,
"I don't know how I ever found the time to go to work." John Vandermark/Charles 6/22/09 Hi to all, Sue Baker/Davis 6/24/09 It will be good to see everyone. It's been 45 years! Dolores and I are living in Rumney, NH. I forgot to tell everyone that Mrs. Lester was in the hospital
last week. She went to the doctor for a cold and the doctor sent her
to a heart specialist. The heart specialist put her in the hospital
because her heart was beating rapidly. She said she feels fine and
is going for a stress test next week. In case any one wants to send a card to: Louise Botsford 11/4/08 Dolores and I are living in Rumney, NH. I forgot to tell everyone that Mrs. Lester was in the hospital

Good news to report. On August 4th at 4 PM, Bill Alberta became a grandfather. Benjamin (Ben) Alberta Riehlmann weighed in at 6 pounds, six ounces, and stretched the tape to an astonishing 19 inches long. Our congratulations go to Sherry and Bill, and of course, to the mother, who had a little something to do with all this, Amber. 8/31/2017
In attendance were, left to right; Joe Iozzi, Tom Kulesza, John Reed, Bill Alberta, Gerry Wormuth, Denny Swartout, and Bill Kelly. The regatta started at Fireman's Park and ended at Dixie Coe's house a few miles down the Delaware. Reminisces and lies were shared, along with dinner at McBree's Crosstown Tavern Following the water trek. The event will be open to all next year. A date is in the works. If you think you'd like to go next time sign up here.
8/30/17 Sad news to report. Denny Swartout's brother, Jerry has passed away. He just turned 80. As many will recall he was the bouncer, along with Wayne "Jake" Jacobs at our class graduation party at Kiwagi Lodge. Cheryle Stanton Makowski also lost her mother last week. As with many of the mothers of that generation, Pat Charles was a mother to many of us, and provided a "safe haven" to many of us that skipped school. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Punki and Denny. 5/8/2017

pessimists in the class. The checks keep rolling in for The Flower Fund.
I just received a nice check from Pat Brown Jones. That puts us well
over $400. Are a bunch of us deathly ill that I don't know about?
Anyway, thanks to all for your donations. I always was, and still am,
proud of the class of 1964. Just received 3 more checks for the Flower Fund from Helen Crisman, Helen Hathaway and Bill Shild. Thank you all! We currently have $375 in the flower fund. The class thanks the many who have contributed over the years. 2/6/2017 A big thanks to Gerry Wormuth and John Fucci for their very generous donations to the Flower Fund. To date the Flower Fund has provided over $1,300 for flowers at our classmate's funerals, given donations to non-profit charities as requested by the family, or given direct financial help to the families to defray the cost of funeral expenses. Some Flower Fund proceeds were also used for reunion expenses. To all that have given over the years, thank you! It\'s always great to know where everyone is now, their chosen professions, etc. And retirees, of course! Mr. & Mrs. Lester are phenomenal - they always were. Several of us remembered Mr. Lester preparing us for the DC trip in table manner i.e. how to butter your bread, etc.............did you notice how many of the nicknames have fallen by the wayside over the years? They were great in high school but not so great now..............anyway it was great to see everyone.........clare - I tried your e-mail but got nowhere. Pat (Brown) Jones 6/20/2014 To the members of the Class of 1964, We are grateful for your kind words and are glad that in some small way we gave our students a sense of pride in themselves and encouraged them to do their best in life. We know that Wellington's failing eyesight does not help him recognize individuals. This is hard for him to accept. We were deeply touched by the roses (Joe's trademark) and the plaque. The plaque is hung on the wall in our living room. We would enjoy having all of you stop by to see the plaque and to visit with us. Our heartfelt thanks to the members of the Class of 1964 for all their considerations to us. Our very best wishes and love to each and everyone of you. Feel free to stop at our home anytime. The welcome mat is always out. Helen and Wellington Lester The next reunion should be held in Hawaii. Br-r-r. A big Thank You to Louise for all her hard work in making the 2104 reunion a success. For those wishing to send a card of condolence or letter to Don Barclay or Andre Runne, these are the most current addresses we have for them. They will be in our thoughts & prayers:
I think we will all remember
where we were 50 years ago on November 22, 1963......we were all
enjoying our senior year at HCS. From that day on until the funeral was
over, our TV (such as it was!) was on almost 24 hours a day....we were
glued to the set especially my mother. I don't mind saying that us kids
were all tired of the coverage, but there was no changing the station,
if we even could!!! You know, out in the hills of Pine Mill, the
reception left a lot to be desired though we didn't know it at the
time.......leave some feedback - Richard Nevin told me upon my arrival
to 310 study hall and then we were all herded to the auditorium for the
"official" announcement by Pod. Helen Hathaway burst into tears and
after that, I don't remember much of the remainder of the day as it was
getting close to being dismissed from school......... Hi, Hi John, Classmates: If you are on Facebook, go to the FB page for the Class of '64, https://www.facebook.com/groups/215812301772815/ and sign up to be on our class' own FB page with only classmates of 1964. Lee Woodmansee 8/13/13 I think we need to thank Louise for all of the time she contributes working on the mailing list, and getting the invitations in the mail. She always works in the background, but she has done a lot to assure that our reunions are a success, She is presently following up and arranging next year\'s festivities, is i icontact with Buzzy E and Jerry D about 2014 site arrangements. Dear members of the Class of 1964 and friends, Click here to view Reunion pictures From Lee Woodmansee. 8/12/2013 Andre Runne headed north from NC a few days before the reunion , on his motorcycle. John Fucci 8/12/2013 Anyone interested in playing golf this weekend (aug 10-11)? esic@tei.umass.edu Please let us know if you are planning to attend the reunion on August 10, 2013. There are a few plans that need to be made. Please RSVP prior to July 10, 2013. wjfucci@yahoo.com John Fucci 6/28/2013 Thank you to John (Charles) Vandermark, Helen Hathaway Friedman, Cheryl Stanton Makowski, Tom Kulesza, and Mr. & Mrs. Lester for their very generous contributions to the flower fund. Donations have been made on behalf of the class to Kingswood Campsite, per the wishes of Marilyn Bell's family, and a vase of red roses from the class will be present at Marilyn's service in Montrose. A check & card to the widow of Jimmy Pritchard was also sent from the class of 1964. Below is the note from Mr. & Mrs. Lester that accompanied their donation of $64.00; "We are continually proud of members of the class of 1964 and their many acts of kindness. Please accept the enclosed to add to the memory fund. Our reward is your many thoughts of us." Helen & Wellington Lester 4/16/2013 We are trying to find the following classmates. Dan Schuler, Nancy Linkroum Abbott, John Riggs, and Jim Law. Unfortunately there is a Dan Schuler listed in Social Security death records that seems to fit Dan's age, etc., but by no means is that a confirmation. If you have any information about Dan, or the others, please email John Fucci or fill out the "Leave a Message" form at the bottom of this page here. 4/15/2013 My dad, Leonard E. Sienko, passed away this morning at about 4:00AM at the Susquehanna Rehab Center in Johnson City, NY, after being treated for pneumonia at Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton. Dad would have been 96 this August. He lived a full and happy life; but Mom and I will miss him all the more. For those in the local area, arrangements are by the Henderson-Biedkapp Funeral Home, Hancock, NY: Viewing Tuesday, April 16, 2013, 6-8pm. Funeral Mass, Wednesday, April 17, 2013, St. Paul's RC Church, Hancock, NY. The New Town Square community project has a lot of merit. Its' development reflects positively on current, as well as past residents, who grew up in or have lived locally. Many members and friends continue to include Hancock when they describe their family roots. In lieu of flowers, the family of Marilyn Bell Shoupe requested any donations be forwarded to Kingswood Campground in Sands Creek. The address is: Kingswood Campsite ICO: Carol Stidworthy 430 County Route 1 Warwick, NY 10990 The class will be sending a bouquet of roses and making a small contribution to Kingswood Campsite. 4/11/13 Thank you to Dennis Swartwout, Pat Brown and Alaina Rood Farthing for their generous donations to the flower fund. Please add your comments here about how we should further honor our classmates. A few ideas have been suggested. What's yours? Joe Iozzi 4/11/13 While I have a free moment (which are few and far between these days with a special needs child in the house), I wanted to first of all ask "what is going on here with all of our classmates? I would not consider any of them "old" by any means.....I just feel so awful for all of them. I was not aware that Jim Pritchard was so ill....or Marilyn for that matter. Anyway, we will be contributing to the "fund" for whatever you needs to use it for, be it flowers, donations, etc. Since you handle all of this, that choice, I feel, is best left up to you. AND - my idea to honor these fallen classmates - how about some kind of memorial fund set up through the school from the Class of '64? So often, in obits, you read about donations "may be made to".....how about sending it to the school for t his fund, NOT to be used for capital projects but rather for something that they need and which would have a plaque of some sort with it to indicate that the Class of '64 made the project possible.....I know your feelings on flowers and to some extent, I feel the same, but this way, something could live forever and since HCS is the one common bond that our class shares, this makes sense to me. I have no idea about the legal ramifications or what it would take to do this, but maybe it bears investigation... We are looking forward to August. Ern checks this site more religiously than I do. He has also always said that he likes my reunions better than his own...... Pat Brown 4/11/13 I was talking with John Fucci yesterday and we decided the class needs to discuss how we will honor our fallen classmates. The August reunion will be a good time to get everyone's opinion and input. We talked about scholarships, plaques in the park and flowers. Some people wish to do one, but not the other, others wish something else entirely. John's thought was flowers are not lasting. I agree, but I believe the thoughts expressed in giving flowers are everlasting memories to the family. If anyone wishes to add to the discussion, simply fill out the form at the bottom of this page and put your two cents in, or wait for August. Joe Iozzi 4/10/13 I will be sending flowers to Marilyn's service, as well as a donation to Kingswood, and will making a monetary donation to the family of Jimmy Pritchard on behalf of the class. Anyone wishing to contribute to either or both, the flowers or a donation can send via or PayPal designating use of their funds. Joe Iozzi 26 Peas Eddy Road, Hancock, NY 13783. Marilyn Bell/Shoup's services will be held at the Methodist church in Montrose on Sunday, April 28 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers the family has requested any donations be forwarded to Kingswood Campground in Sands Creek. More information will be in the Hancock paper next week. Marilyn worked at that camp every summer. I will find out the address and post at a later date. The church details for her service are as follows: Franklin Forks United Methodist Church 3865 Silver Creek Road Alaina Rood Farthing 4/10/13 More sad news to report. Jim Pritchard died this morning after waging a long battle with emphysema. There are no services planned. His wife Joan and granddaughter Kim's address follows, for anyone wishing to offer condolences: Joan Pritchard 17 Myrick Road Starlight, PA 18461 Joe Iozzi 4/9/13 Very sad news to report. Marilyn Bell Shoup passed away this morning at Wilson Hospital. Arrangements are not yet known. As soon as they become available, they will be posted here. Louise Worzel Botsford 4/7/13
Marilyn Bell Shoup is very sick. She is having her lungs drained and is so short of breath I told her not to talk. She really needs prayers, also mail. She is in Wilson Hospital; Wilson Hospital 33 - 57 Harrison St., South Tower, 4 Room 448 Johnson City, N.Y., 13790. Please pray for her and also for Marilyn's, daughter Miriam, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Thank you Re: Reunion The Hancock Community Education Foundation (HCEF) will have food available for sale to us. The menu is not known yet but expected to be hot dogs, hamburgers, etc., along with drinks. More specific information will be available as we get closer. The intent of asking them was to make sure that we did not have to bring grills, coolers, etc. I think a non-profit selling us cheap, basic food will work out really well. The fact that they are associated with the school is even better. I believe that we are making arrangements to have our group provide our own discreet alcohol. We expect that the party on the Square will be self contained and be a fun, low-cost, informal event. Looking forward to it! Thanks to Pat Brown for her contribution to the flower fund. It is appreciated. 1/2/13 The following videos are included here, in case some of you have not seen them.

Posted 8/29/12 Helen Hathaway The Alumni Banquet that I recently attended and may I add the only one, was great. My brother Tony Rood, and sisters Vicky and Kathy went with me. David Lepro was a great speaker. Jerry Wormouth and his wife danced every dance. Louise Worzel and Barbara Hadley looked great. Ben Stormer was in attendance and said that Danny lived in Ca and was a lawyer. Louise will ensure that she sends him information on the next reunion. We really need to rally and have more in attendance in the future. Great evening all around. Thanks to Gerry DeBrescia for providing the DJ. I think his address his still; Donald Barclay 12 Moultan Ave Joe Iozzi 1/7/10 In one of my "rare" visits to the computer, I have caught up with everything for the last few months...it (the computer) is usually occupied by others in the household, mostly grandchildren. Here we are in the beautiful Thousand Islands region of Northern NY state (and I type for a living!!!)...it is absolutely beautiful here even at this time of year. The "tourists" have all gone home, the River is gorgeous, we have our quite little town back and life goes on. We are looking forward (??) to the snow and cold weather especially now that we have 2 "little people" who absolutely love the winter outdoors...sledding, skating, building snowmen, etc and we as adults remember bundling everyone up to the point that they cannot move - but they\'re warm!!! That's what Ern and I do these days - we have custody of 2 absolutely beautiful, intelligent grandchildren - Colton age 6 (boy) who is in 1st grade. I just love to go over his "homework" with him at night and realize how much they learn in such a short period of time at school....all of you teachers will know that of course. He and his teacher have a "mutual admiration society" going on as he did last year. Zoe is 4 and is a handful....she is the social butterfly of the family...she is going to be an actress I swear - she sings, dances, reads to us, just a happy go lucky little girl whose biggest interest in life these days is that her world is okay....who would have guessed at our age that we would be doing this? One of 2 things will surely happen as a result of this - the situation will either kill us or we will live forever...I tend to favor the latter - not forever of course, but...it is very tiring some days but very rewarding... Hi to all. We wish everyone the best ever holiday season. We spend Thanksgiving in the Binghamton area with Ern's family and then we stay home until warm weather. We live just above the "snow belt" which is not a very nice place to try to travel when the "lake effect" snows begin...if you have never experienced "lake effect",....on my! We had no idea what it was until we moved North - I can tell you that it is not something you ever want to be driving in.....what an experience!!! Love to all. Pat Brown Jones 11/8/10 John Fucci's recent email
prompted me to go to our site and take a look at the message board. I'm
glad I did; it was fun to see what some of my classmates are up to these
days and it made me realize that I miss you. My wife (Sherry) and I are
still living in and enjoying Ithaca, just 100 miles from Hancock. Sherry
retired from her teaching job this past June but I plan to keep working
as a career counselor at Cornell until I turn 66 (that's not far ahead
for each of us of course, strange as it seems). I haven't been to
Hancock much lately although I did connect with my old buddy and our
classmate Gerry Wormuth to get some bluestone for projects around our
home. Gerry is doing great. Regarding recent news, today is the official
start of a program I started many years ago to help needy children
during the Christmas holiday. Last year we bought new clothing and toys
for 656 kids in 29 area elementary schools. If you\'d like to learn
more, our website is at elves.cornell.edu If any of you would like to
start a similar program, even for a few children, please let me know. My
best wishes to you all. wna1@cornell.edu Hi and "Happy Halloween" to
all. Our house has finally sold and we are full time residents and
registered voters of FL. Going to go to our 1st Southern County Fair on
Thursday. Seems funny to be going to a fair in November. Weather is 95
right now and not humid... Love it. Nice to read the updates etc. on
this sight. Thanks for the e-mails John.
gloriajschmitz@gmail.com Reading the message from Mr &
Mrs Lester brought back many fond memories. Hard to imagine that
enrollment at HCS is 1/3 of what it was in our day and we were all in
one building that also housed the school buses at the end of the day!
Now there are three. Checking the room assignments each August in the
Herald was exciting for my children and now the grandchildren are in
elementary and middle school. Hope you all cherish the memories you have
of HCS, the staff and friends. GREETINGS. School time at
HCS brings back fond memories. The HANCOCK HERALD listed home room
assignments and we could not help but recall the assignment for
home-room in 1963 when your class was in 310 with us. 310 is no more due
to renovation changes. Helen did not appreciate that 8th period she was
alone while I did the lab activities in 313. The enrollment then (1963)
was 1,230. The total enrollment for Sept. 9,'10 is just under 400. 32 in
the Class of 2011 with three home-rooms. Three teachers did retire last
June and were not replaced. Lee, sounds like a great
plan for Hancock, hope all goes as well as possible for you. Townhouses
will really add improvement to our hometown. My husband and I live here
in the desert, we are completely green. solar and wind, propane
refrigerator, garden, chickens even a solar pump for our well. We have
80 acres and enjoy the quiet. I work part time in Alpine, the biggest
town near me and it is 80 miles away. Some days I don't even meet
another car on my drive but see a lot of wildlife. Yesterday I saw a
badger. I am working on another book, but very slowly. I love to talk to
Andre he always makes me laugh. God bless the class of 64. I hope everyone's summer
has been relaxing. Spent a week In Myrtle Beach with family. i am back
and forth to Hock often to check in on Mom alone at home and to visit
Dad in Bridgewater Nursing home in Binghamton. I wish I had more time to
visit with former classmates. Time goes too quickly. I love to check the
board and find out what is new. Have a great fall. Isn't cheerleading
practice starting soon???? I am working towards
buying the old Pappas trailer park with an eye towards building some
town houses on the riverbank there. So, if anyone wants to retire to
Hancock and live on the river . . . Lee Woodmansee 9/1/10 I received this note from
Helen Hathaway Freedman. John Fucci 8/23/10 I stopped at the Circle E
Diner the other day to deliver some Summer Directories and noticed that

looks great. It looks like he has gained some weight and his motor
skills have improved. It was really great seeing that he has improved.

was doing very well. Louise Botsford 4-14-10 I have been
remiss in not checking this board on a regular basis. I started using
Facebook to keep track of what my 13 year old, now 15, was doing on the
net. It turned out that I was the only parent of her classmates that
had access to their child's account. Nice vote of confidence from
Beatrice. I've gotten hooked by Facebook and use it to talk with a
bunch of our classmates. I was chatting with Jane Roney and she
mentioned the information about Clare and Charlie. Here I am, hat in
hand, with apologies to all for not staying up with what has been going
on. When I read Don's piece about his visit I remembered what a great
time I had the week I was up before the reunion. It was a truly great
experience in spite of the first speeding ticket I have ever gotten.
More later. Hi everyone: I
want to let all of you know I have been thinking about you and wish,
Leonard, Clare, Chuck, John Reed, Terry Gorton Davis, Marilyn Bell the
very best and a speedy recovery and prayers to the Class of '64. I am
sorry I couldn't make it to the reunion. I enjoy reading the message
board. I hope to get some e-mails. I Hi All, Now that we found
Jim Law, where's his sister Tina? On the slightly lighter side, I just got back home from a four day visit to Hancock, my first outing since my life changed. I arrived unannounced and with no agenda, stopped at McDonalds, the Hancock Golf Course and within an hour of arriving I had plans for breakfasts, golf, dinners and evening happy hours for four days. Now the hometown does look significantly different, no DI, Tony’s, Townhouse, no Star, Capital or Central Diner. But quietly in the front corner booths at McDonalds sit the same people that make it home. They wave and say “hi”, like you’ve never been gone. As I read through the posts on this page we seem to need to know that there is something we can depend on, and Hancock and old schoolmates provide that. Yes the buildings and businesses have changed, but Hancock was and always will be much more than that. It is the people that lived and still live there. I had a spectacular time and would highly recommend it to everyone. It will be one of your best vacations, ever. Finally, not to puff ourselves up too much, but members of the class of ‘64 were key in this experience (the best, I love you all). Don Fritz 4/5/10 Thank you for
praying for me. The onocologist
told us good news. There is no TB, no fungus and no malignancy in the
lung that had the biopsy. It is a granular substance that is benign and
he is going to leave it alone because I have no trouble breathing nor
do I do a lot of coughing. Love, Marilyn Bell Marilyn Bell 4/2/10 Contrary to the
rumor I have been spreading, Tom Kulesza was "not" the kayaker rescued
from Lake Wallenpaupack recently. He is much too good a kayaker for
that. Aliana Farthing
received a letter from Marilyn (Bell) Shoup. Marilyn has had a lung
biopsy and needs prayers. She has had cancer before and is very
concerned. She needs cards and prayers. Louise Botsford 3-31-10 Rolland Bojo just had an ostomy bag put on because he had an attack from diverticulitis. He has been tested for the last 20 years and they said he had colitis, Croans disease and I\'m not sure what else. They didn't detect the diverticulitis because it was on the outside instead of the inside. Most of the time they would perforate and then heal back over. He is home now and he said that he is feeling better. Home Address: 607-637-5255 John Fucci 3-31-10 Hi John, Its been hard for me to use my right arm and hand to e-mail. I am doing better - the dr. took 17 staples out of my shoulder - I have to keep my arm in a sling for one more month so the worst tendon can heal - the dr. had to really work the tendon back up into my shoulder from the upper arm - that is my worst enemy right now - very painful - but I should eventually heal. Thank you everyone for my e-mails and cards. I appreciated each one of them. Clare Homer Skinner Regards, Clare Homer 3-31-10 Clare (Homer)
Skinner is having surgery on her arm today. She did quite a bit of
damage when she fell on ice during the winter. I am sure she would
appreciate any cards that are sent. Her address is: Hi All, The surgery went
well. The next day everyone said that they couldn't believe that I had
gone through the surgery. The one nurse said I looked like a million
bucks. They had me up walking and sitting in the chair all day. Each
day I walked more laps around the nurses station. They told me the more
that I walked, the faster we got the gas out. So I walked and walked.
The nurses told me that I was doing really good for going through the
surgery. The doctor let me
come home on Monday. I am still a bit sore but I feel like I have a new
lease on life now. I got my control back. They still have me on the
prednisone so I still have to keep track of my glucose readings until I
am weaned of of the meds. I really feel that I am on the road to
recovery. I want to thank
everyone for their cards and prayers. It means so much to know that you
have so many friends and family pulling for you. God Bless You

More reports to follow as they come in. Sally Zegers 2/26/10 Was talking to
Clare (Homer) Skinner and she goes in the hospital for surgery on her
right arm on March 16th. She fell on ice and the results of the MRI was
a complete tear of two tendons and one partial tear in another as well
as the long head of her biceps. Also, chronic tendonitis and a few
degenerative cysts. Louise Worzel Botsford 2/24/10
Hi All, They have
penciled in February 24, 2010 for the surgery. If there is any problem
with the EKG or blood work or something else then it might get changed.
But I don't think that there will be a problem unless my cold gets a
lot worse. I had the EKG and Blood work done today so we have plenty of
time to get things in order. I want to thank
all of my classmates and friends for all of their support, cards and
prayers. It means so much to know that I have the support of everyone. God Bless You

They had her scheduled for surgery around four o'clock yesterday but moved it up to before noon. Haven't heard any results, yet. Thought you would let the classmates know so that they could send her cards or possibly give her a call. Teresa Davis 607-637-4432 Update; Talked to Jill

doing fine. She is home. They sure don't keep you in there very long
anymore. So send those cards and make her feel better. Louise Worzel Botsford 11/30/09 Although I
graduated a year before you guys I would just like to butt in and say I
think it's great that you have a reunion every 5 years and have a great
turn out each time. That is wonderful! I'm actually jealous. Our class
of 1963 only had 2 reunions in 46 years! Shame on us. Since our classes
were relatively small, and most of us know each other, maybe we should
combine the two classes???? Just a passing thought but I would like to
say you guys are to be saluted! Hats off to ya A heartfelt thank
you to all who participated in my wife, Christine's "Card Shower". Over
80 cards and letters were received and they truly lifted her spirits.
Their arrival was perfect timing as she was struggling with the effects
of her first chemo and had been re-hospitalized with complications. Don Fritz 10/1/09 Dear Classmates, I hope all is well. I thought you may like to know that Louise has been suffering with colitis for some time now. Her treatment has included self medication (shots in her stomach) which must be very difficult to administer. At least it would be for me! Just recently she told me about additional complications arising from a bout with bronchitis and sinus infection. I'm sure Louise would appreciate some words of kindness from you. Please consider sending a card, or email, or making a phone call to Louise. I know she would appreciate heating from you. If mailing a card, please mail it between November 11-15. Hopefully it will arrive on November 14-16. Best wishes, John Fucci PO Box 82 Fishs Eddy, NY 13774-0082 Although I didn't
make it to the class of '64 reunion, thanks so much for the invitation.
I enjoyed hearing from Betty Davie and John Fucci and seeing the
pictures from the reunion. I'm posting a picture taken this past May of
me with my husband, Peter, and son, Max, at Max's graduation. Best
wishes to all and perhaps I'll make it another year. I am enjoying the
photos and messages. Really missed being with you all. Clifford, Jan
and I and family had a great time on the cruise and thought of you. I
think Cliff is posting a picture of us all on the ship. See you in 5
years!
